On June 4, Li Zhongze, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China MCC, received Xia Nong, Vice President of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), at the MCC Tower. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as deepening collaborative development within the steel structure construction industry chain and promoting the high-end, intelligent, and green high-quality development of the steel industry. Wang Bin, Deputy Secretary-General of CISA, and Xiao Peng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of China MCC, accompanied the meeting.

Li Zhongze welcomed Xia Nong and his delegation and expressed appreciation for CISA’s longstanding support in empowering industry development and establishing a platform for industrial chain collaboration. He noted that China MCC, as a direct subsidiary of China Minmetals, is deeply rooted in the metallurgical sector and infrastructure construction. The company possesses comprehensive capabilities in metallurgical construction and the full-chain core technologies and accumulated expertise in steel structure R&D and application, making it a pivotal force in domestic steel structure R&D and large-scale implementation. Currently, China MCC is strategically positioned at the critical juncture of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, targeting high-quality development objectives. It aims to serve as the global leader in metallurgical construction and a national pacesetter in the construction of new infrastructure and new urbanization. By continuously optimizing its metallurgical and nonferrous business portfolio, China MCC leverages technological innovation to enable the application of new industrialization and new urbanization across multiple scenarios. Against the backdrop of the dual-carbon goals, China MCC is willing to utilize its full industrial chain resources to collaborate closely with CISA, deepening practical cooperation in areas such as the integrated development of the steel structure construction industry chain and the internationalization of the steel industry, thereby jointly contributing to the high-quality development of China’s steel industry.

Xia Nong commended China MCC’s sustained contributions to the high-quality development of China’s steel industry. He emphasized that the steel industry serves as an indispensable pillar for building a modern and strong nation, and that the 15th Five-Year Plan period represents a critical phase for realizing high-quality development in the sector. At present, CISA is working with relevant national ministries to advance the top-level design of the steel industry, actively addressing the pain point of supply-demand imbalance. By leveraging steel structure buildings to unlock steel consumption potential, the industry aims to transition from scale expansion to quality and efficiency improvement. Looking ahead, CISA will continue to leverage its strengths in industry resources and policy research to facilitate the industrialization and application of MCC’s steel structure technological achievements, jointly driving the high-end, intelligent, and green high-quality development of the steel industry.

During the meeting, the two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on specific matters, including measures on both the supply and demand sides of the national steel industry, the revision of steel structure standards and specifications, and the promotion of achievements within the steel structure construction industry chain.

Representatives from relevant departments and subsidiaries under MCC Headquarters, including Guo Wencai and Wang Haitao, along with officials from the corresponding departments of the CISA, attended the meeting.
