On March 20th, the Shanghai Baoye Group successively won the bidding for the Nanjing Steel No. 1 Blast Furnace Modification Construction Project and HBIS Industrial Upgrading and Xuanhua Steel Capacity Transformation Project Blast Furnace Region No. 1 Blast Furnace Construction and Installation Project.
Nanjing Steel’s First Iron-Making Factory No. 1 Blast Furnace (2,000 m3) was completed and put into production in June 2004. The overhaul and reconstruction mainly include furnace body dismantling and rebuilding. The reconstruction contents involve the material supply system, below-tank feeding system, furnace top system, raw gas system, furnace body system, casting house system, slag processing system, fuel gas, heating power, water supply and drainage, ventilation, power supply and distribution automation, and telecommunication facilities. The reconstruction period is 112 days. The commencement date is scheduled as September 1st, 2018.
Located in Leting Economic Development District of Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the HBIS Industrial Upgrading and Xuanhua Steel Capacity Transformation Project consists of three 3,000 m3 blast furnaces with an annual design output of 7.32 million tons of molten iron. The engineering contents include blast furnace bodies, blast furnace tops, casting houses, master control building, gravitational dust collection, main belt filling system steel structure, main conveyor belt mechanical equipment and water slag treatment and transportation. The construction period is 16 months. The commencement time is scheduled for the end of March 2018.
Winning the bidding for these two projects has profound significance for exploiting the metallurgical market and an important leading function for opening up Nanjing Steel’s market and exploring the markets of Tangshan and Hebei.
