Shanghai Baoye Wins Bidding for Chengsteel Coke Oven Gas Purification, Compression and Hydrogen Manufacturing General Contracting Project

  On March 15th, the Shanghai Baoye Group won the bidding for the Coke Oven Gas Purification, Compression and Complete Hydrogen Manufacturing Equipment and Service Project of the Vanadium-Titanium High-Strength Cold-Rolled Sheet Project.

  Located in the Chengde Iron & Steel Group’s Factory in Shuangluan District of Chengde City, Hebei Province, this project has a total investment of RMB 21,780,000. It mainly involves the construction of a new set of normal 8,500 m3/h coke oven gas purification equipment and a set of normal 100 m3/h coke oven gas hydrogen manufacturing equipment, using both domestic and foreign advanced equipment. Upon completion, the gas purification equipment will significantly improve the service life of the gas equipment and reduce environmental pollution, while the hydrogen manufacturing system will provide shielding gas for the cold-rolling project and guarantee the smooth production of Chengsteel’s Cold-Rolling Project.

  The coke oven gas purification system includes three procedures: the naphthalene removal system, compression system and gas desulfurization system. After purification, the contents of naphthalene, tar and hydrogen sulfide in the coke oven gas are far below the national standards. The naphthalene removal system allows the recycling of gas after purification. The regenerative process is automatically controlled and can completely eradicate environmental pollution and reduce labor intensity.

  The hydrogen manufacturing system includes the compression system, coke oven gas pre-treatment system, PSA system and deoxygenation drying system, and uses the international common pressure swing adsorption method (5-1-3 PAS technique). That is, the equipment is composed of 5 absorbers, one of which is always in a feed adsorption state. Its technique process includes adsorption, three voltage reductions in voltage sharing, forward release, backward release, flushing, three voltage increases in voltage sharing and final voltage increase for products and other procedures. It offers high-purity products, a low gas flow amount, low dew point and other advantages.

  Winning the bidding for this project marks that Shanghai Baoye and BERIS have made another new breakthrough in the coke oven gas hydrogen manufacturing general contracting technology field, and taken a solid step on the professional differentiation development road in the energy conservation field.
