On March 2nd, MCC20’s Shagang 2,300 mm Slab Continuous Casting Machine Project and No. 3 Medium Square Billet Continuous Casting Machine Project were accepted by all departments of the Shagang Group, the design institute and the supervision unit, marking their full completion. They will now be delivered to the owners and put into use.
Located in Shagang Rongsheng’s second continuous casting workshop converter steel mill, the Shagang 2,300 mm Slab Continuous Casting Machine Project involved a newly built uniflow 2,300 mm slab continuous machine with an annual qualified slab output of 1.5 million tons. It was commenced on December 18th, 2015 and provided casting blanks for the 3,500 mm rolling mill constructed at the same time.
The No. 3 Medium Square Billet Continuous Casting Machine Project used a disk-type revolving platform cross-casting arrangement form. Upon production, it will produce 1.2 million tons of steel and achieve hot charge and hot delivery with steel rolling. The first continuous casting machine with one machine, five flows and a 390 mm×300mm cross-section in Eastern China has been officially put into use. The project was commenced on November 25th, 2015 and had its thermal load test run on October 3rd 2016.
Having randomly checked and carefully inspected the main items of the two projects, heard the Project Department leaders’ completion reports and reviewed the project information, the acceptance team agreed that the construction quality and aesthetic quality of both projects satisfy all the design and code requirements, then highly praised and accepted them.
