On May 8, Chen Jianguang, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China MCC, met Xia Nong, Vice President of China Iron and Steel Association, and his delegation, in Beijing. Both sides held a discussion and exchange on further deepening exchange and cooperation and jointly promoting the development of steel structure industry.
He stated that the steel industry serves as a pillar industry of the national economy, a vital support for building a modern powerhouse, and a critical frontier for achieving green and low-carbon development. China MCC was established based on the steel industry. It carries out production and operation around the steel industry, and is closely connected and inextricably linked with the China Iron and Steel Association and the domestic steel enterprises. Currently, China MCC, at a crucial period of ongoing transformation and upgrading, is pursuing the "One Goal, Two Best, Five Strengths" goals to strive to open up new fields and new tracks, and shape new driving forces and new advantages. The promotion of steel structures holds significant economic, ecological and social significance for facilitating the green and low-carbon development of the steel construction industry. China MCC and China Iron and Steel Association share a strategic convergence in promoting steel-structured prefabricated residential buildings. It is hoped that both sides will further deepen cooperation in promoting the coordinated development of the steel structure construction industry and facilitating the internationalization of the steel industry, contributing to achieving high-end, intelligent and green transformation of China's steel industry.
Xia Nong expressed his gratitude to China MCC for its long-standing contributions to the healthy and sustainable development of China’s steel industry, and commended the company’s achievements in reform and development in recent years. He stated that steel structure construction is confronted with a favorable macro environment and development opportunity, and steel-structured residential buildings will emerge as a new frontier for upgrading China’s construction industry. This is pressed for offering advice and strategies, with reforms and innovations across the industrial chain to enhance synergistic development quality and level. China MCC, as a backbone force in advancing the steel structure industry, has unique advantages in resource guarantee, technological innovation, pollution reduction and carbon emission reduction, and steel application, etc. It is hoped that on the basis of the previous friendly cooperation, both sides will further deepen practical cooperation and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. China Iron and Steel Association will consistently serve as a strategic facilitator to support China MCC and other member enterprises.
