On August 21st, MCC Group & MCC Party Committee Deputy Secretary and MCC Vice-President Wang Shilei met Xi’an Municipal Committee Standing Committee Member and High-tech Zone Party Working Committee Secretary Zhong Hongjiang and his delegation. Both sides carried out an in-depth exchange on promoting cooperation on the “Belt and Road” initiative, infrastructure, high-end housing construction, comprehensive area development, headquarters base construction, finance industry, etc.
Wang Shilei first welcomed Secretary Zhong Hongjiang and his delegation and introduced the historical evolution and development situation following reorganization of MCC Group, pointing out that following the strategic reorganization of the two Fortune Global 500 companies the China Minmetals Corporation and MCC Group in 2016, it enjoys steady growth in business scale, sets new historical records for economic benefits in the same period and is now one of three state-owned enterprises to hold the full range of financial licenses. Currently, it manages assets of RMB 1.68 trillion and is the only state-owned capital investment company in the metal and mineral industries in China. As a national innovative enterprise, MCC Group holds more than 20,000 valid patents in total, ranking 4th among state-owned enterprises for four consecutive years, and has won the China Patent Gold Award for three consecutive years. In recent years, in accordance with the strategic orientation of being the “national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of capital construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech and high-quality development in the long term”, MCC Group has successfully realized its transformation and upgrading, focused on capital construction, emerging industries, etc., and undertaken a batch of infrastructure and emerging industry projects including expressways, super high-rise buildings, characteristic towns, healthcare, theme parks, comprehensive pipe galleries, ecological engineering and so on.
Wang Shilei said that MCC Group and Xi’an City have a profound historical relationship. In recent years, with the strong support and assistance of the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Government, many subsidiaries of MCC Group have devoted themselves to the Xi'an market and invested in and constructed the Xi’an Municipal Underground Comprehensive Pipe Gallery, “MCC Yiqu Jiangshan” and a large number of other influential projects. In May and June of this year, MCC Group and the People’s Government of Xi'an Municipality signed two strategic agreements which laid a solid foundation for further intensive bilateral cooperation. At present, Xi’an City faces major development opportunities while MCC Group will continue to pay attention to the Xi'an market, integrate its various business resources, give full play to its advantages in capital, management, technology, etc., and boost the faster and better development of “Great Xi’an” construction.
Zhong Hongjiang thanked MCC Group for its support and concern for the development of Xi’an City, pointing out that the High-tech Zone has been developed into the leading demonstration area in Xi’an City and even Shaanxi Province over the years by virtue of the unique development advantages of Xi’an. In recent years, Xi’an City and the High-tech Zone have made efforts to keep pace with and surpass each other, shown rapid development momentum, greatly improved the natural environment and business climate, strengthened the atmosphere of entrepreneurship and innovation, and raised working enthusiasm. However, some weaknesses remain in the city’s infrastructure construction and financial industry development. Xi'an and the High-tech Zone welcome such strong, experienced and socially responsible state-owned enterprises as MCC Group to participate in economic and social construction; its governments and the High-tech Zone will provide MCC Group with optimal services and policy support as always.
The meeting was attended by relevant leading High-tech Zone and Xi'an City officials Wang Hairuo, Lei Xiaoyu, Han Yan, Lyu Meng and Xu Shan, and relevant personnel of MCC Group and its subsidiaries Zhu Guangxia, Wang Wei, Yang Kui, Chang Zhicheng, Yin Wanyun, Li Meilin, Ye Zhixiang, Li Chunjie and others.
