Guo Wenqing Meets Beijing Chaoyang District Head Wang Hao

On November 1st, China Minmetals General Manager and MCC Chairman, Party Committee Secretary and President Guo Wenqing met Beijing Chaoyang District Head Wang Hao and his group. Both parties held talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, and exchanged in-depth views on government and enterprise cooperation, and further cooperation in such fields as real estate development, municipal infrastructure, theme parks, sewage treatment, waste incineration, water system management and shantytown transformation.

Guo Wenqing welcomed Head Wang Hao and his group, thanked him for the great support and services provided by Chaoyang District for many years, and briefly introduced the MCC Group’s development conditions. He pointed out that MCC is working on being the 'national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of infrastructure construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term', and MCC’s strengths and business development fields now include high-end housing construction, road traffic and urban infrastructure, underground comprehensive pipe galleries, theme parks, the environmental protection industry and so on. MCC is the only enterprise in China to hold the theme park design and construction qualification, and has successfully completed the construction of Shanghai Disney, Zhuhai Chime-Long Ocean Kingdom, Singapore Sentosa Universal Studios and several other domestic and overseas theme park projects, thereby accumulating rich experience. At present, it is undertaking the design and total package of Beijing Universal Studios, Nanjing Dragon Nest, Huaian Journey to the West and other projects. The MCC Group has also successfully become involved in the environmental protection field, and possesses domestic patented advanced water system treatment technology which can treat 3.5 million tons of sewage each day. It successfully designed the first waste incineration power plant, and has undertaken the design, construction and operation of several waste incineration power stations in China. After the successful strategic recombination with China Minmetals, the new China Minmetals enjoys greatly improved resource allocation and investment and financing ability. It is one of three central enterprises with full financial licenses, enabling it to engage in banking, securities, trusts, insurance, financial leasing and other businesses. It is also one of the real estate-oriented enterprises approved by SASAC, and its two real estate enterprises MCC Real Estate and Minmetals Land have high brand awareness in the industry, and have successfully developed several real estate projects in China. It also possesses 29 national R&D centers and key laboratories.

Guo Wenqing added that as a central enterprise, MCC is actively implementing and promoting the national integrated development strategy of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, taking Beijing as the key regional development market, and striving to find opportunities to build Beijing into a political, cultural and external exchange center. As a central enterprise headquartered in Chaoyang District, we maintain good relations with the government at all levels in the district. MCC has decided to take root in Chaoyang District for development, and it can place a national R&D center and key laboratory, as well as more branches in Chaoyang, thereby further contributing to the economic and social development of the district. Guo Wenqing hopes that both parties will strengthen their communication and exchange, take active measures to solve existing problems as soon as possible, and further enhance their cooperation in such fields as real estate development, municipal infrastructure, finance, theme parks, sewage treatment and waste incineration.

Wang Hao thanked MCC for its contributions to the economic and social development of Chaoyang District, and pointed out that the district has close relations with MCC and China Minmetals, and it pays close attention to the economic development of headquarters, especially the care and support of central enterprises headquartered in Chaoyang District, by listening to their thoughts and understanding their appeals. He added that they would carefully study MCC’s requirements and existing difficulties with a view to solving them as soon as possible. He hopes that MCC will continue to actively participate in the economic and social development of Chaoyang District, as well as shantytown transformation, sewage treatment, waste incineration, water system management and other projects. The government of Chaoyang District at every level will offer its strong support as always.
