On May 20th, MCC Party Standing Committee Member and China MCC Vice President Zhang Mengxing met Xiangtan Mayor Tan Wensheng and his delegation at the MCC Mansion. Based on the consensus reached by Guo Wenqing (China Minmetals Corporation General Manager, Party Organization Deputy Secretary, and MCC Group & China MCC President and Party Committee Secretary), and Cao Jiongfang (Hunan Xiangtan Municipal Party Committee Secretary and Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee Chief), both parties held a deep discussion of how to promote cooperation on projects in various fields including infrastructure construction, real estate development, emerging industries and so on.

Zhang Mengxing warmly welcomed his guests and briefly introduced the history and current development situation of the Group, pointing out that MCC is the world's largest service provider for metallurgical construction and operation, the steel structure manufacturing enterprise with the largest output in China, and one of the 16 central enterprises confirmed by SASAC of the State Council as the first batch of enterprises centering on real estate development. Facing the adverse development situation of the metallurgical industry, the MCC Group has successfully completed its transformation, developing such new mainstay businesses as municipal transportation infrastructure, high-end buildings, large gymnasiums, environmental engineering, urban underground comprehensive pipe galleries, theme parks and so on. The current new strategic positioning of the Group is to become the 'national team of China’s metallurgical industry, the main force of capital construction, and the pacesetter of emerging industries'

Zhang Mengxing pointed out that MCC Group pays close attention to the market expansion of Xiangtan City. Cooperative organizations will be quickly established to accelerate project progress. While 'never delaying and never slacking', the MCC Group will actively make greater contributions to the economic and social development of Xiangtan City.

Tan Wensheng expressed gratitude for the warm reception of Vice President Zhang Mengxing before briefly introducing the basic information of the Xiangtan Session of the Hunan PPP Demonstrative Project Promotion Conference on May 18th and the news conference for the key investment-attracting projects of Xiangtan’s '13th Five Year Plan' on May 19th. During Xiangtan’s '13th Five Year Plan' period, it plans to construct nearly a thousand projects with an investment amount of almost 1 trillion. In 2016, it plans to open the 'Two-year action of making Xiangtan more beautiful' across Xiangtan City. It will give a big push to the construction of such projects as 'one belt and two areas', 'one circle with 4 exits and multiple nodes', '2 watercourses with 5 bridges', and 'one street and one block', improving the quality of main and secondary roads, etc. Tan Wensheng added that the MCC Group is a super-large central enterprise in the global Top 500, with powerful strength and advantages in talents, technology, funds and management, and both parties have a vast space for cooperation.
